Ballet Technique

Ballet is the foundation for all classical dance. This class teaches the discipline and exercises of ballet, as well as ability-appropriate steps, combinations and across the floor moves.

Hip Hop

A high energy dance performed to rap, R&B, dance or pop music. Hip-hop emphasizes rhythm and body movement. We take great care in choosing appropriate music and choreography for our classes.

$40/month for one 60-minute class per week

 

Clogging

An upbeat, percussive dance that is includes elements of tap and Irish step dancing. While traditionally performed to bluegrass music, modern routines can be danced to hip-hop, dance or pop music. BSOD offers classes in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels for all ages, as well as performance and competition opportunities.

$40/month for one 60-minute class per week

 

Lyrical

A fusion of ballet and jazz, lyrical uses motion to interpret lyrics and express emotions.

$40/month for one 60-minute class per week

 

Tap

A lively, rhythmic dance that turns the performer into not only a dancer, but also a percussive musician.

$40/month for one 60-minute class per week

 

Jazz

Jazz  focuses on proper body mechanics, personal style , creativity and coordination.

$40/month for one 60-minute class per week

 

Stretch and Tumble

This is not your average children’s tumbling class. Students will learn basic gymnastics skills to incorporate in dance. Tumbling, backbends, handstands and flexibility will be explored to prepare children for a future in acro dance, a style that combines classical dance with precision acrobatic elements.

$40/month for one 60-minute class per week

 

Ballroom Package

Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and East Coast Swing classes available in 6-week sessions.

$60 individual/6 week session or $110 per couple

 

Latin Package

Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa and Merengue classes available in 6-week sessions.

$60 individual/6 week session or $110 per couple

 

Wedding Package

Your wedding is a very important occasion and getting ready for your first dance is an enjoyable experience you both can share. We have a wedding package, which includes choreography of your special dance and six lessons to prepare you for the wedding.

6 lesson package for $250

 

 

Tap/Ballet Combination Class

Available for 3– 5 year-olds, our ballet/tap combination class provides a strong dance foundation, preparing students for a future in our more targeted dance classes.

$40/month for one 60 minute class per week

 

Clogging/Hip Hop Combination Class

Available for 4– 6 year-olds, our clogging/hip hop combination class gives students a basis in clogging and hip hop, which prepares them for a possible future in our competition clogging program.

$40/month for one 60 minute class per week

 

Mommy and Me

An introduction to music and dance for the little ones that allows Mommy (or Daddy) to share the experience and prepares young dancers for a future in one of our combination classes (18 months—2.5 years)

$25/month for one 30 minute class a week

 

Competition Groups

Our competition clogging and hip hop groups are available to those who have demonstrated the skills, confidence, discipline and drive to succeed in our program. The competitive group requires a higher level of obligation in regards to performance as well as finances. Practices are mandatory, and extra practices may be necessary as a competition approaches. Additional expenses include costumes, travel to area competitions, entry fees and spectator fees. If finances are a concern, please discuss with the director. Often, other parents are willing to arrange transportation or an overnight stay if your child would like to attend a competition. Though the competitive program is demanding, students gain confidence and social skills, as well as the opportunity to see new places and meet dancers from around the southeast.

Private Lessons

Whether you are preparing for a wedding or cruise, or just want to gain the skills necessary to further your dance skills, private lessons can provide the instruction you need to reach  your goals.

$30/half hour or $55/hour
